Many mixed cocktails are full of sugar, artificial dyes and  laboratory flavorings. Wouldn't it be nice to have a cleaner, naturally flavored drink? As a vodka/gin seltzer girl myself, I like drinks that are bubbly and light. In the past I've posted recipes for  Cranberry Lemon Vodka and Grapefruit Rosemary Vodka  but this summery inspired infusion is definitely something unique to try.

Fig Infused Vodka

Ingredients:

  • 1- 1.5 C Vodka
  • 2 sliced fresh figs

Directions: Add vodka to a jar with lid. In this case, I used a repurposed Starbucks mocha bottle. Slice figs and add to jar, covering with vodka. Allow the mixture to infuse in a cool location for 3 days. Enjoy this delicious pink drink!

Fig Cocktail Suggestions:

  • Fig Vodka+Seltzer+Peach Schnaps
  • Fig Vodka+Vanilla DRY soda
  • Fig Vodka+Orange Juice+ Seltzer
  • Fig Vodka+Grapefruit Juice

As always, remember that alcohol is dehydrating to the body, so alternate water with these types of drinks. Another word of warning from the clinical side of me: Grapefruit juice causes interactions with so many prescription medicines. Drink responsibly.

Any other mixing ideas? Cheers,
